At Azulejo, we place great importance on sustainability. We strive to implement this as thoroughly as possible throughout our company, in every aspect. As part of our commitment to sustainability and ethics, we also value the authenticity of our designs. We create the azulejos (tiles) ourselves, inspired by authentic elements combined with a modern twist. All of our designs are hand-drawn, as we believe in the added value of human artistry.
We take sustainability and ethics into account in our production. Our products are made from responsibly sourced materials (such as our clothing, which are made of 100% organic cotton). In addition, we believe it is important to contribute to a responsible working environment for the skilled hands that bring our clothing to life. That’s why our garments are produced in Portugal by adults working under fair conditions and earning a fair wage.
We believe it is important to contribute to slow fashion by ensuring that our products are made to last. With the right care, you can enjoy their comfort and unique designs for years to come. Our pieces are created to be worn with pride, time and time again.
The final step of our work is shipping your packages. Here too, we focus on sustainability by ensuring that parcels are never larger than necessary, so they don’t take up unnecessary space in transport (after all, we don’t want to ship air!).
For smaller shipments, we use Do Good Bags: sustainable shipping bags made from high-quality, FSC-certified paper sourced from responsibly managed forests.
For larger orders, we use durable shipping bags made from 90% recycled plastic. These bags are fully recyclable and designed to protect your items while minimizing waste compared to oversized packaging alternatives.
All our packaging is chosen with reuse and recyclability in mind. We encourage you to recycle or repurpose it where possible, helping us move towards a more responsible and circular approach.
