The Azulejo
The azulejo is more than a tile. It is a piece of history, art, and identity. Since the 16th century, these handcrafted ceramic tiles have colored the streets, façades, and interiors of Portugal. With their characteristic patterns and deep blue tones, they tell stories of voyages of discovery, traditions, and everyday life.
The name azulejo comes from the Arabic al zulaycha, meaning “small polished stone.” In Portugal, the azulejo developed into a unique art form, often in blue and white, but also in vibrant colors. Each design carries its own meaning, whether through geometric patterns, floral motifs, or historical scenes.
For us, the azulejo is a symbol of heritage and connection. It reminds us of our roots but also inspires us to create something new. That is why we translate the timeless beauty of the azulejo into our clothing. This way, you are not only wearing a shirt but also a piece of history – a work of art that has survived generations and still speaks today.
Wear the azulejo. Wear the story.
